Colin Hurley Accident, Colin Hurley, LSU Freshman Quarterback, Found Unresponsive

LSU freshman quarterback Colin Hurley was found unresponsive but breathing early Thursday morning after a car crash near the entrance to the LSU campus, according to police.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. Hurley was removed from his Dodge Charger by emergency responders and taken to a Baton Rouge–area hospital for treatment.

Officials have not released the cause of the crash. LSU representatives said they could not comment further because Hurley is 17 and still a minor.

In a statement, Hurley’s family said he is stable and recovering.

“Colin would like to thank the first responders, the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Health, and the many Tiger fans for their care and compassion,” the family said. “He is resting and undergoing additional tests, and we are confident he will make a full recovery.”

Hurley, a Jacksonville, Florida native, signed with LSU as part of the 2024 recruiting class and did not see game action this season as a true freshman.
